For this series of images I really just wanted to take a walk through downtown Providence, where Johnson & Wales's "Downcity" campus is located, and photograph things I thought were both interesting and could make a good photo.
The three photos as part of this series are part of a little series of images that I've taken in my personal time that I refer to as "Large Skies". In these photos the majority of the images are taken up by the sky, with a subject taking up a small part of the image, typically in the corners.
Once I was finished with my walk around Providence, I ventured my way back home where I chose my three favorites and proceeded to touch them up a little in Photoshop. These touchups consisted of making the images more colorful, making the sky bluer and the red in the bricks pop out much more than the original photos. I quite enjoy the first two images and the perfect deep-blue color of the sky. The third image stands out, with the brighter blue sky and the white clouds.
Overall, I really like these images and think they look good, to put it simply. I mean, why come up with some technical reason why I like these images when I could just say that I like how they look?
