I was commissioned by the Rhode Island drag artist Enigma Punk to create this poster for their June 2025 "PUNKS FOR PRIDE" show. Being my first post-graduation design commission I was quite excited at the opportunity to create this flyer.
I was given near complete creative freedom with this poster in terms of design. I edited the provided photos of the performers in Photoshop to allow the colors to pop more, as well as assist with the "popping out" affect I went with for the images. Also applied to these images was a gritty texture, further enforcing the edgy, industrial feel I gave to the poster. Further enforcing Enigma Punk's edgy performance aesthetic is the gritty, textured rainbow background to the flyer, fitting well with the client's request for the poster to have an edgier feel while still showcasing the Pride colors.
The client was very pleased with the final product and included the piece on their social media profiles to advertise their upcoming show.
Final Thoughts
This was quite the fun project to work on as it was my first "real" post-grad design commission, as well as this piece would be featured on Enigma Punk's social media profiles for their followers to see. It's a type of work that I'd like to continue with in the future as it allows me to gain more exposure as a graphic designer.
